TO MY SPOUSE
You stood by me, Bon,
Even when a pastor raped me
with his words;
Even when another pastor
refused to allow me to visit his
church;
Even when a third requested gifts
of thousands of dollars, but
refused my simple invitation to
dinner.
You stood by me.
You prayed for me without ceasing;
Even when betrayed by a relative
that urged you to divorce me;
Even when later accused by the
same relative that any mental
disorder I had was all your fault;
You prayed.
When Jesus redefined "love" in the
Bible,
He spoke of finding someone that
was wounded,
And not running away or avoiding
them,
But pouring in oil and wine, and
saving the life that was almost
gone.
Those that study the Bible called Jesus'
words "The Parable of the Good
Samaritan".
I've studied you, luv.
And I am privileged to call you 'My
wife'.
Thank you for listening to His words
and daring to live them.
You are so often His Bible that I read.
*****
Much love in Christ, always;
